Westinghouse Bj505s R Manuals
Hi, can anyone tell me if they have been successful in figuring out why the fridge section freezes food intermittently and what has been done to fix it? This has been an isue for years and we constantly have to throw food that has frozen. We had a tech out a little while ago and he tested everything to say all was working fine and this fridge just seems to do this!
Great we thought, that was worth about $160. Doing it again now and even with the fridge 'cold' level turned to the lowest setting it's still freezing in different zones within the fridge. So frustrating.
Jan 14, 2018 - 1 Answer SOURCE: This is a bad design flaw, the fridhe is cooled by fan forced air from the freazer. Two ducts vent into and out of the fridge. Put simply, the Westinghouse RJ422V sucks cold air out of the freezer and blows it into the fridge section. You can tell it’s working properly because it’s a) cold in the fridge and b) you can feel a slight breeze coming out of the vents.
Any help here is appreciated. We have the BJ505T model.
Bought the Westinghouse fridge a few years ago because my family has always bought Westinghouse and in the past have been great fridges. Sadly this one has let me down.
After a couple of years of use the doors have dropped leaving a gap around the top of the seal on the opening side. I wasn't to upset about this till I found out the lower cam (which is what one of the parts are called) is no longer available for the left hand hinged models. Very disappointing from a company like Westinghouse. Also, the parts required to fix the door dropping problem do not come as a kit. You have to buy each part separate. I paid a small fortune for this fridge and there is only 2 of us in the house so its not like the doors are opened 50 times a day.
Very disappointed. This fridge belongs to the other half - however I take care of it and everything inside it. Lexmark scanner driver. The fridge was pretty neglected when I got my hands on it - firstly giving it a good clean and vacume of dust out the back. The rubbers for the fridge are shot (due to girls nails cutting into the rubber than using the handles eg: child), we tried getting them replaced with OEM rubbers but the Westinghouse shop stuffed us around with wrong parts so the split rubbers remain but fixed a little. The plastics are brittle and you need to practice a lot of caution when you wash the fridge as things will snap and it'll cost you an arm and a leg to replace! I find that the fridge works alright, but as some state there are cold and some extremely cold spots in the fridge that affect some foods terribly.
The fresh produce bins at the bottom for greens do a good job at quickly destroying lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, potato's etc - they have half the shelf life than my mothers fridge that is 10 years older than this fridge. I turned up the thermostat and then noticed that things would go off at the upper levels of the fridge, so you cant win at all!
The freezer itself is what you would call Cryogenic Storage - it is set up right and I find that chicken and beef suffer from freezer burn quiet quickly, regardless of how you pack or store it they get those white dot's. Download autodesk maya 2015 full crack. I also store frozen fish for fishing and find that Mullet - the most hardy bait suffers from terrible freezer burn even when they're stored in multiple bags and paper. All in all, the fridge had been moved from house to house possibly more times than I care to remember and had more mileage points than a frequent flyer the fridge continues to keep chilling; its never going to be perfect nor is it going to impress but it keeps on going on! + loved the look and design. I paid it off in about 4 months- very proud about that. Worked well until it suddenly stopped working after 1.5 yrs. I had to replace the entire motor for $165AU!
