Hi, Hoping someone can help me with this. I installed 7RC a couple of months ago. Since then whenever my pc sleeps I can not wake it up. It used to wake up fine in XP. To get it going again I have to cold reboot or pull the plug. When it comes back up everything I was doing is still there, I just have to enter my password.
I think I have all the settings right but if someone could run me through everything that needs to be set I'd be really grateful. Thanks in advance. I just experienced this today. But after I did a hard reboot, Windows 7 simply 'resumed' instead of a new login. I'm not sure if that's due to my solid state OS drive or what. This is my first experience with both Window 7 AND solid state technology.
I mashed every key on my keyboard and the thing STILL would not wake up. But every time I hit a key, my keyboard lights go on once and off, so at least I get some response. But the screen doesn't wake up. Is there anything new in Windows 7 regarding sleep/wake that I should be aware of here? I too have similar problems. Sometimes it wakes no problem, other times it fires up but the screen stays blank and the HD task light stays on solid.
I pull the plug (flick the hard switch on the back of the PSU) and as mentioned above, sometimes it goes back to my previous state in Windows after logging in. I use both 'High Performance' and 'Power Saver' settings.
I haven't trialed and errored it yet but I think this may be occurring only when I am in 'Power Saver' mode and yes I am overclocking with CoolnQuet enabled and working when I switch to 'power saver' mode if this makes any difference. I also use to have these kind of problems with XP so I thought maybe it was a BIOS setting but I have it set as follows: Suspend Mode - Auto Repost video on S3 resume - No Set ACPI 2.0 - Enabled ACPI APIC – Enabled. The computer does not awake from sleep. When I try to do it, it behaves as if it was waking, but it never ends and there is only a black screen; the mouse and keyboard are inoperative. The only thing possible to do is a hard reboot.
