I just experienced this today. But after I did a hard reboot, Windows 7 simply 'resumed' instead of a new login. I'm not sure if that's due to my solid state OS drive or what. This is my first experience with both Window 7 AND solid state technology.

I mashed every key on my keyboard and the thing STILL would not wake up. But every time I hit a key, my keyboard lights go on once and off, so at least I get some response. But the screen doesn't wake up. Is there anything new in Windows 7 regarding sleep/wake that I should be aware of here? I too have similar problems. Sometimes it wakes no problem, other times it fires up but the screen stays blank and the HD task light stays on solid.
