This is the setting of Axis and Allies, a strategy video game operating on a turn-based system. I thought I’d give this game a try. Downloading the software, I learned that Axis and Allies is based on the board game designed back in the 1980’s. As a turn-based game, I discovered that the Soviets’ turn was first.

I had to prepare for each turn, which is split into phases. Each phase will allow me to prepare and harness the technology necessary for a full-scale warfare, assemble combat troops and vehicles, and then move them to my desired combat positions.
