About the Author - John S. Mitchell John Mitchell has held leadership positions in the Reliability and maintenance field during a professional career of more than 40 years.
He is considered among the world’s leading experts in the field of machinery monitoring and analysis. He was founder and president of Palomar Technology International Inc., and manager of the Bruel & Kjaer Condition Monitoring Systems Division in Naerum, Denmark. In addition to this book he is also the author of: An Introduction to Machinery Monitoring and Analysis. He has published numerous papers and given presentations on the financial and technical benefits of condition monitoring and condition-based maintenance to organizations throughout the world. John is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional, CMRP, member of ASME and ISA and a member of the Board of Directors of the Vibration Institute.
He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a patent for fixtures used in optical alignment. Contents The first four chapters comprise a basic introduction.
