Tim I was just reading a post on RFC about the Marlin Model 39 Century LTD rifle and noticed that I had given the wrong info on the year in this thread. So I am correcting myself. These rifles were made in 1970 only. There were approximately 34,000 produced. I hope this has answered any questions you had. I have one of these and it has an octagon barrel, brass buttplate and forend cap and a brass medalion on the side of the reciever and one on the stock.

I can't find much on these rifles, does anyone know how much they sell for. Tributo jose jose rapidshare. It looks to have been fired very little and doesnt have a mark on it that i can see. There is a lot of room in that question. The mdl 39 was introduced in 1922 and has many variants manufactured up until at least 1988. Early model standard rifles in excellent condition can command $1500 and 'Deluxe' examples can go to $2500. Through the '40's, the values go to $1200 and in the '50's to $400. A new in the box 1960 Presentation model goes for $1200 (unfired) and the 1970 Century Unlimited goes for $350. Most other examples go to about $300 or so.

If you think it is an early model, take it to a gunsmith or advanced Marlin collector and pay for an appraisal.
