As i said before, i've never personally 'upgraded' a Sony, and Sony do sometimes go out of their way to make things difficult, From searching the 'net, there doesn't appear to be any additional steps needed to unlock these devices and run other software, So it would seem that either there is some sort of hardware problem or the device needs a bit more work in the unlock which is not documented, It may be worth accessing the Volume and sounds applet in the WinCE control panel to see if any sound effects can be played. The power button problem can usually be solved because the original software is responsible for button mapping, Like older Navmans. Switched to Primo. Had problems with picking up GPS signal but then made change Here are my settings. Baud and port are important but changing the source to 'nmea' is what got it working for me.
