We are currently working with OpenSat in developing Android for the AzBox ME which will be available summer of this year as the official firmware once we launch the ME for the Americas market. As you noted, the AzTrino firmware is very limited feature-wise and not suitable for the North American market.

Rather than wasting time trying to improve firmware running on a limited platform, we felt it was best to leverage the powerful Android infrastructure in order to create a suitable firmware for feed hunters around the world. Various third party groups have modified versions of the Enigma 2 firmware in order to run on AzBox receivers. However, as Enigma 2 was created by and for Dreambox receivers, other receiver brands are typically not licensed to use Enigma 2 for their operating system which is why AzBox is not able to support Enigma 2.

It would stutter all over the place but recorded flawlessly. Once RTI E2 Version 1.6 came out every NBC back haul played perfect as did every other High Bit Rate feed. I also have an Elite and a Premium Plus and I don't remember any High Bit Rate feeds being a problem on viewing a live feed but in recording them.

As I stated everything recorded great that was a problem in the past AzBox's including ESPN QPSK feeds using SR 29270 that would stutter in the older units. It's safe to say that recording is fixed on High Bit Rate feeds. Serial speedcommander 15. The Me has auto FEC so I han't had any issues with that. The Me is featured in the latest edition of Telesat magazine and has pictures of AZtrino(pgs 19,20,22) and The RTI Enigma 2 firmwares(pgs 24,25) in it.
