Deb Control File Cydia Tweaks

Sometimes a developer’s repository goes down, desired tweaks are withdrawn, or the latest update of a favoured tweak features unwanted changes; non-existent in previous versions. Pirates 2 stagnettis revenge movie free download. In these cases, it is convenient to have a backup of your most-desirable tweaks. When you download a tweak from a Cydia repository the software comes packaged under the file extension [.deb]. A [.deb] or ‘Debian’ file is essentially an archive that contains two inner-archives; one holds the control information necessary for installation, and the other contains the installable data. Unfortunately, after installing a tweak on your device, Cydia removes the original [.deb] archive. Therefore, in order to save a tweak for safekeeping, we must first locate and re-collate all of its data – extract it from wherever it’s stored on our iOS device – before proceeding to repackage the software; turning it back into its original [.deb] file. For this, we can use an automated tool called ‘redeb’ – developed by Tomas Herak and released through ‘Wiety’s Beta Repository’ in 2015.

★ System Requirements: ★ Jailbroken device running iOS 6 or above (Apple® iPad, iPod touch, iPhone) ★ redeb  Author: T.Herak  Original Repository: ★ MobileTerminal  Original Repository: 1) Assuming you have already installed the necessary software listed above, launch [MobileTerminal] from your iOS home screen to begin. 2) At the terminal prompt, type [redeb] and hit the [Enter] key. 3) It will inform you that you didn’t specify a package ID (a specific tweak) that you wanted to save, and offer to list them all for you. Hit the [Y] key to agree, and then the [Enter] key to see a list of all your installed tweaks. 4) Locate the package you want to save from the list. ★ Note: Most packages share their name with the corresponding tweak, but sometimes you may need to know the developer’s name or repo to identify the tweak you want. In this case, the exact bundle ID for the package that you require can be found on the tweak’s Cydia page; at the very bottom, next to the repo it is from.

5) Make a note of the line number next to the tweak you want to save, and then type it into terminal, followed by the [Enter] key. This will prompt redeb to begin re-packaging and saving your tweak in [.deb] format. ★ Note: Some tweaks are composed of more than one package, and may have two or more entries on your list. Always check for extra lines in the list, with a similar name. These may also be required for the package you are saving to work correctly when reinstalled. The beatles helter skelter. If you find extra entries, simply repeat the saving process for each entry, and keep them all together once saved for future use. The same also applies to packages with dependencies* (*additional packages that are required to be installed for the initial package to function correctly ).
